CR3 to JPG Converter

CR3 to JPG reads the JPEG the camera already saved. The file stays on this device.

🔒 Files never uploaded·⚡ No sign-up·🆓 Free — batch up to 5 files

This page turns a newer Canon RAW file into a picture you can attach. This CR3 to JPG page is for the preview, not a full develop. Drop the photo on the box, read the size label, and press Download. Nothing is uploaded, and you do not need an account. The original stays on your device. You can shorten the long edge if the picture is awkward to attach. If the file has no embedded JPEG, the page says so and stops.

How to convert CR3 to JPG

  1. How to convert CR3 to JPG: drop the photo on the box or use Choose RAW photos. PSDraw checks the CR3 header, so a renamed picture is not accepted. A .CR3 to JPG only starts when that header matches.
  2. Read the line that says Output, the width, the height, and camera's embedded JPEG. A CR3 to JPG label on the export card shows that width and height. There is no layer stack to hide.
  3. Press Download. The picture is written in the browser. Your original is left untouched on the device you already have open.
Drop a .CR3 to JPG. The photo stays in this browser tab.CR3 to JPG preview labeled as the camera embedded JPEG, not the sensor.Download after CR3 to JPEG. The original stays on the device.

What a CR3 file is for

Email a proof before the edit

A client wants to see the frame tonight. Send the picture, and keep the CR3 for the real edit later. The transfer never starts, because the preview was already inside the file. You can attach it before the desktop edit begins.

A whole card of photos

Free use converts up to five files and packs a ZIP on this device. A 24-hour pass is $2.99 and Pro is $19 once, with no subscription, when you need up to fifty. The work still happens in the browser, including a second pass that only shrinks the preview.

Older Canon files

CR3 is not the same package as the older CR2. If your card is full of CR2, use the CR2 page. Nikon, Sony, and Adobe DNG have their own pages. One CR3 opens here. Two or more become a batch.

CR3 to JPG converter features

Header check

The box trusts the CR3 header, not a renamed extension. A picture that was merely renamed is refused instead of being decoded as a photo.

Embedded preview only

CR3 to JPEG here means the JPEG stored for the camera screen, when the file actually contains one. PSDraw does not demosaic the sensor, and it does not invent a megapixel count.

Size label

Info and the export card both show Output, then the width, the height, and the words camera's embedded JPEG. Every CR3 to JPG result uses that same label, so the limit is visible before you download.

Quality and long edge

Leave quality at 90, or lower it when the letter is already large. You can convert CR3 to JPG again after you pick a shorter long edge. That re-encodes the preview. It is still not a develop.

Batch of five

Drop several CR3 photos together. Free stops at five. The page tells you the cap before it converts, and the ZIP is built in the browser.

You can run this without signing in. Closing the tab drops the photo from memory. We do not keep a copy.

What is a CR3 file?

CR3 is Canon's newer RAW package. It is not a CR2 with a different ending. PSDraw recognizes a CR3 from the file header, so changing the letters in the name is not enough to make some other picture count. Inside a real CR3 the camera may store a JPEG for the rear screen, next to the sensor readings. That JPEG is a finished picture with the color the camera chose. It is often smaller than a full reading of the same frame. This page exports that JPEG when it is present. It does not build a new picture from the sensor data, and it does not print a sensor megapixel count the preview cannot prove.

Some CR3 files will not contain a preview this page can find. When that happens the page says there is no embedded preview and stops. It will not paint a stand-in or pretend a develop finished. You still have the original for a desktop RAW editor. A CR3 to JPG copy is for the errand, and the camera file remains the archive. The wait is only the time your own device needs to find the JPEG and draw it.

Embedded JPEG preview, not a full develop

The export is the camera preview, with the color the camera baked in. You do not get a new develop of the sensor data. White balance, a pulled shadow, or a lens profile from a desktop editor will not appear, because those choices were never applied to the embedded JPEG. The export card says Output, the pixel size, and camera's embedded JPEG so the limit is on the screen before you download. PSDraw does not compare that size with a sensor resolution, and it does not print a number it did not read. Some cameras store a preview that is already large. Some store a small one. Both are labeled the same way. Full-quality develop is coming later.

A second pass can shrink the long edge or change the quality. That re-encodes the preview. It still is not a demosaic. If the browser cannot allocate a very large export, the page offers a smaller download instead of a broken file. There is no layer list, because a camera preview is a single image. The Layers tab stays hidden so it does not imply a stack that is not there.

Upload sites are a poor fit for CR3. Each frame is often tens of megabytes, and a shoot is a stack of them. You pay the transfer before you see a picture, and the file has left your machine. Free covers a single file and a batch of five. A day that needs fifty files is the $2.99 pass for 24 hours, or Pro at $19 once. There is no monthly plan. Online converters often charge $12.99 to $29.99 a month for the same kind of errand. You can still use a desktop editor when you need a real develop. This page is the fast local copy.

CR3 to JPG FAQ

Is every CR3 file guaranteed to include a preview?

No. If this page cannot find an embedded JPEG, it stops and says so. It does not invent a picture.

Can I use this on a phone?

Yes. Use a current Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari. A CR3 to JPG run uses the same preview on a phone as on a laptop.

Does CR3 to JPG develop the full sensor data?

No. The download names the preview size instead of a sensor guess. Full-quality develop is not part of this page.

Are my CR3 files uploaded?

No. The photo is read in the tab you already opened. We do not keep a copy after you leave.

Is CR3 the same as CR2?

No. They are different Canon packages. This page checks for the CR3 header. Older CR2 files belong on the CR2 page.

Is CR3 to JPG the same size as the sensor?

No. The label is the width and height of the embedded JPEG, written as Output plus camera's embedded JPEG. It is not a sensor specification.

Use CR3 to JPG from the box above, then keep the camera file for a real develop later. Read the size label before you send the picture.
